Start with the right information.

For a landscape compliance enquiry, send your site details, a short brief, the latest plans you have and your approval stage. Relevant council or certifier correspondence helps us understand the request.

This is a practical enquiry checklist, not a statutory lodgement checklist. You do not need every item to start a conversation.

Send your project details

What to send

  1. The site and the brief

Include the site address or suburb, the type of project and a short description of what you need. Tell us whether you are the homeowner or part of the consultant team, and which council or certifier is involved if known.

  2. The latest available plans

Share current architectural plans and a site survey if you have them. Include the drawing date or revision so we can distinguish the current proposal from an earlier version. Existing landscape drawings can also help explain what has already been considered.

  3. Your approval stage

Tell us whether the project is at concept stage, preparing a development application (DA), following a complying development certificate (CDC) pathway, or responding to a request for more information. If the pathway is not confirmed, say so rather than guessing.

  4. The actual request or conditions

Include relevant council or certifier correspondence, conditions or requests that mention landscaping. A complete request gives more context than a cropped sentence. Remove unrelated personal information before sharing documents.

  5. Known constraints and coordination needs

Note any known trees to retain, access issues, level changes or design priorities. Tell us who else is working on the project and whether their plans are still changing. These notes help us identify what needs clarification; they are not a substitute for site-specific assessment.

  6. Your timing

Tell us about any submission date or response deadline. We can discuss documentation scope and timing after reviewing the information. Council and certifier assessment times are outside our control.

DA and CDC: check the pathway.

A development application and a complying development certificate are different approval pathways. In NSW, complying development is available only where the proposal meets the applicable standards and land requirements. It is not an option for every site or project. See the NSW Government’s planning approval pathways.

Required documents depend on the proposal and site. Check the relevant council or certifier’s requirements; this list does not replace them. The NSW pre-lodgement guide explains how early preparation can help the process, without guaranteeing approval.

For the landscape documentation itself, read about landscape plans for a DA or CDC landscape plans and certifier coordination.

Send the useful files, not everything.

The enquiry form accepts up to four PDF, PNG or JPG files, with a combined limit of 3 MB. Give files clear names and keep the latest revision easy to identify. For larger documents, email hello@landscaperesolved.com.au.

Only share documents you are authorised to provide. Avoid identity documents, financial records and unrelated personal details. Read how we handle your enquiry and attachments.

Missing a plan? Start with what you have.

Explain what is available and what is still being prepared. Landscape Resolved can review your brief and discuss the next useful step for the landscape documentation.
